To vary the current P in the circuit
The purpose of the resistors is to slow down the inrush current. It will reduce the max frequency you can run at, but it will improve the efficiency because the mosfet won’t get as hot to keep up with the oscillations (in which case, it’ll start acting like an amplifier).
